Now that the evenings are darker I have noticed this more and more recently......whilst driving along the M4 i have overtaken the obligatory Middle Lane M*r*n and shining brightly on their dash is a SATNAV unit. Now is there a link between middle lane driving and operating satnav units? I know they ...

when I drive my wifes Discovery I tend to drive slower and (for me) in a more relaxed manner. Its a TDi, I KNOW its not going to pull away as fast as my 306, I KNOW it can t corner at high speeds (anything over 40 really!!), I KNOW it can carry 6 kids (not all mine) and myself in relative safety, I ...

Drove through again today and it is SPECS cameras. They are replacing the central reservation so thats the reason for the lengthy roadworks. Amazing how slow 40 is when youre on the motorway, still find some people overtaking me tho.....

Does anyone know what the above cameras are for??? There are two cameras on bright yellow poles, at the side of the road overlooking all three lanes...are they ANPR?? they are on both carriageways around where the roadworks start/end, I thought they might be SPECS but its over a small distance

what is interesting is that they have selected a "wealthy" borough to implement this scheme in, if those people can afford to have big Mercs, BMWs and 4x4s sitting around they certainly arent going to worry about paying a "little" increase to park them....now if they tried that i...

IF this ever came into effect (i travel 80 miles on the M4 everyday) I would be left with £8k per annum to pay my mortgage, bills, food, clothing, spending, looking after my 2 kids.....great, I will get myself sacked, claim the dole and sponge off those who are lucky enough to be able to afford to g...

it is an interesting point, though, if your car is accessible to a couple of Muslim women who would normally wear a veil, you would not be able to identify them, therefore having made a reasonable effort to find out you are unable to point the finger with 100% certainty. I can see the case being dro...

I suspect Ru88ell lives in a Utopian dream world (or Japan) where PT does run on time and allowances dont have to be made. I also agree with some of the earlier postings - Who has the right to dictate to me (or you) what car you should drive? Why not ban any vehicle that does not conform to the &quo...

| handy - 3foot long letters in the lane saying where its going is big enough I think (in addition to the normal signposts). | I think I drive the Discovery more sensibly than when I am in my own "hot hatch". the fact that the disco is slow, doesnt corner well and is a visible presence on the road means I dont have to compete with the chavy souped up hatches at the lights or protect my lane because people can only... |
