And something which is not obvious with most policies is that if you change your vehicle, they charge you "administrative costs" of £15-30 (maybe more, I don't claim to have done a survey) and don't tell you unless you ask, or read the small print.

I've been on Pepipoo and they've pointed out that there doesn't need to be an offence (or any evidence of an offence) for a section 172. All there needs to be is an allegation of an offence. They've also pointed out that the penalty for the 172 is about double that of the alleged speeding offence, n...

But we still have to have a set procedure und this has to be upheld for each und every case. It can also depend on situation. We once had a German in his big bad Porsche up here.. before the speed cams. He was nicked by the police. In the court - via interpreter - who was allegedly struggling to ke...

If you win you claim costs. Make a note of every cost incurred and all your time you spend preparing for the case. ;) Yeah, but let's be honest, I don't really have much hope of winning, and costs are at their discretion. :( A38 near Lichfield is a bit vague, and they didn't even identify the direc...

Have you been to http://www.pepipoo.com yet? Couldn't get on earlier, then managed 5 minutes before I had to go out & thought it polite to have a bit of a read around th site before posting. Have discovered that a NIP should specify the location to within 1/4 mile, now I need to find mine to ch...

My vehicle was flashed doing 50 on a dual carriageway. There was a temporary speed restriction of 40 and a coned off area. (You can't call it roadworks, there was no evidence of work that time, or at any of the other times I took that road). They sent me a NIP, and I wrote and asked for more informa...

If the so-called speed limit is not signposted properly, how is the driver supposed to know what it is ? Where is the "technicality" there ? My understanding was that he was let off because the NIP was late. And my thinking is that because they have to let off so many because of reasons l...

I don't hold with this kind of thing. It is basically admitting to the offence, but getting away with it on a technicality. I feel that this just makes it harder to argue a genuine defence. Also it reiterates the fact that if you're rich enough, the law need not apply, which just undermines public c...
