| The snag is that generally a car moving at 30 mph produces less emissions compared with one moving at 20 mph. Of course if the average speed of traffic in the middle of London is around 11 mph, it's a bit academic..... |

What fascinating ideas. 
Going back to the original topic, of course what the "research" doesn't take into account would be any alteration in the volume of traffic. Which could make a big difference to any results. |

When you're driving up behind them, your eye is drawn to the shape, especially if they have a bendy flag sticking up, and your brain tries to work out WTF it is, as the overall shape doesn't fit into what you'd expect to see on t... |

| Biofuels are just a red herring. With this sort of thing happening, I certainly wouldn't want to use them. Even if you don't buy into global warming, with the way car use is expanding in China & India, everyone has got to realise that by 20 years time, oil is going to get very expensive. |

I'll admit to doing 80 mph on the motorway when the conditions are safe to warrant that speed.
I was merely saying that the chief constable is irresponsible. |

Max speed 25 mph, range 25 mph and costs £4,500!
Why not give them bikes, less than £1,000 assuming decent kit, range only limited by the number of donuts to be eaten, max speed - 40 + mph assuming a favourable hill.  |

| Interesting statistics! I wonder if there's anything listing how many are repeat offenders. Although in 6 months time, I reckon the extra attention the police are giving, to catch the idiots driving whilst using their phones will have died down, the same way it happened when the law first came in. |
