Got done for speeding,fair enough,copper filled out FP form wrong by missing out a digit from registration number,,,,technicality??? taxi driver and need licence. Radar gun was ' Falcon' hand held, not sure of reliability of these

They are usually calibrated and checked regularly .. and copper would have formed a professional judgement - using the device to confirm. (We are not like the van merchants )

Presumably all else .. name and address etc were correct?

Problem won't go away if you "ignore it".

Prosecution will argue that all else is correct on the form and the policeman can identify as driver too...

How fast over were you? Are you on 9 points and at risk of losing licence?

If so.. get a solicitor to fight for you on the basis of "hardship". He can help draft a suitable letter on your behalf - but you must drive like an thereafter.

I know that it can be stressful working as a taxi driver and you may be rushing to get to the next fare... so perhaps just a COAST refresher lesson with an ADI and a Road Angel and even using the cruise control ... may be useful to you in your job
