I don't think there has been much sexism, although the point cooperman raised about "child-bearing" is close to it (in a "by definition" sense) but is a point that I've heard made by a number of small businessmen (I can see their point of view by don't really agree with it).
the "child bearing age" argument makes about as much sense as the rest of the tripe posted on this thread.
If you have a choice of hiring a female of child bearing age or a male of the same age, the odds are in your favour. Why? If the female decides to wrecklessly go and get themself pregnant (thereby ensuring the future of the species, and that YOUR pension and old age care are supported) they have, by law, to give you notice of intention to take maternity leave. The recommendation, and common practice, is that the notice is given as soon as the pregnancy is confirmed - about 12 weeks gestation. That gives the employer 25 or so weeks to find cover.
The male employee deciding to leave? 4 weeks, cheerio.
Ist more or less what I said in a debate down the Pie und Piston over the road

Thread was about the career mama (you know - the one who has lots of children ... from lots of different men .. just to get benefits ...

) - it drifted onto bash all wimmin who dare hold a job und dare to want their cakes und creamiest milks by having kittens und a nice job - which they worked for as young girlies at school und uni.
Apparently .. per one bloke (whom got the full claws dug into him .. he ist really super polite to me on-line now ..

) I should not have received any maternity leave und stayed at home slavishly stirring Mad Doc's tea for him und waiting on him und the kids "paws und whiskas"
No matter... have me.. have my kittens .. have my intellectual kittens which make a few bob too ...
My argument was that the firm und society benefit from the each worthy employee's input - und it just happens that wimmin can have kittens - with a bit of input from a man

(even if one goes that "trendy way" - which ist just
no fun
)
Und after maternity leave - most of us go back to work after the first 6 months und as for this 12 months pay which ist coming into law - couples can split it however suit them und the boss. (Ist only just over £100 as SMP - und depend on individual firm policy as to what they may pay out as "perk" - which they may offer as they value the staff they recruited in first place und hold out these perks to attract the toppest und bestest candidates for their jobs in first place.
As for homosexuals... und "it ain't natural"... We've always had them .. und if you observe animals (Kriss ist a vet .. she has lurid stories over horses, bulls .. und rams und the odd dog! Ist not restricted to human animal then.. so not some deliberate act - but rather something which the individual feels.. something in their make-up .. und thus "natural to them".
Ist when they adopt a camp und sissy manner which they think they should adopt which bugs me a bit.. No need for it. I do not need to know by an exxageration of perceived behaviour. Other body language would inform me as a "sexy woman who appreciates the power und attraction of a man" that "not the husband type" (Mad Doc .. was instant attraction.. he has a cute bum und sexy eyes

)
Race? I dislike the erosion of our culture und a pee-cee fear of upsetting one particular religion. Whites have converted to this religion und most followers of Islam are normally NOT ZEALOTS!
The "zealots" in question are not true followers of any faith as they incite violence und hatred. Truly decent do not harm others in any case. The issue ist more to do with politics und wanting to establish a rule. I would not want Shariah Laws here.
