The first ever post on the Safe Speed Forums was made exactly one year ago at 9:46 on 6th March 2004. Here it is:

Since the start we have had 778 user registrations and 18,949 posts in 1,795 topics.

New posts are now typically running at over 100 per day - over the last week there have been 833 posts which is an average of 119 per day. That's a busy but not an exceptional week.

The forums first functioned at 5:41am on 6th March 2004, but were not linked for public access until about 8:30am. On the very first day we had 17 user registrations; in the first week we had 80 user registrations.

We have collected a considerable array of talent and the standards are far higher than most web based forums. Many important road safety topics have been exclusively discussed here - we're actually pushing back the frontiers of road safety.

By any standards it's been an amazing success. A huge thanks to everyone for making it such an interesting place to hang out.

I use proportional font - it helps but is not perfect. Not sure if a [font] code exists in this HTML-less world.

I played around a bit but didn't come up with anything useful.
You can get better results by using spaces instead of tabs, but it involves a lot of previewing, and the results aren't perfect.
Is there any way of turning BBCode off and HTML on for individual posts?

More stats:

The top poster (that's me!) has made 3,095 posts, 16% of the total.

Over one third of all the posts have been made by the top five posters.

Over half the posts have been made by the top 10 posters.

Over two thirds of all posts have been made by the top 21 posters.

I just copied and pasted the table into Notepad, adjusted the spacings and then copied and pasted it back.
